From when the Gaza War started, Tzfat residents of, live in fear and panic. Children especially live in fear remembering the last Lebanon War only 2 years ago. Every ambulance siren or boom sends the childeren into panic again. Many childeren need therapy up to today.

Kiryat Meor Hachaimam is a housing complex of 5, 12 story tall buildings, with over 5,000 inhabitants. It is adjacent to the ancient cemetery of Tzfat, facing Lebanon to the north. The tall buildings serve as an excellent target for the Hezbollah, the first in the line of fire. There have been already 2 Rocket attacks on northern Israel this week.

Last Lebanon War for the first time in 30 years, the residents had to run for their lives into the bomb shelter. To their dismay they discovered that the shelters were small, tiny and not prepared at all for the many residents of the building. Conditions were very inadequate. The living conditions are terrible.

By the last Lebanon War the living conditions in the shelter were unbearable. Whichever family had where to move elsewhere did so. Many families were not able to enter the shelter and stayed in the street and prayed. Many families were so afraid; they left and never returned to live Tzfat.

Kirat Meor Chaim is a poor housing complex. The majority of families did not have the money to travel elsewhere and had to remain in the bomb shelter under the dreadful conditions.

So, can we help them? Yes!!

We now have the opportunity to renovate one of those hollow spaces and convert into a proper bomb shelter at the cost of $300,000. We must do this independently as the council is not prepared to invest in this.

Below the existing bomb shelter there is a huge hollow space where the foundations of the buildings are located. (This is because the housing complex is built on the side of a mountain. Half the building is above ground and half below ground.) The majority of the hollow space is located below the existing bomb shelter. 3 full floors can be erected in that hollow pace adding an additional 6,000 feet to the Bomb Shelter.

A part of the space which extends out of the existing bomb shelter above has to be reinforced with concrete. There must be 2 entrances leading to street level for entering and exiting the bomb shelter. 3 floors have to be constructed inside the shelter. Kitchen and bathroom facilities have to be installed.

Please help your brothers and childeren living in fear. Help us start construction immediately with blessings that we won't need the shelter.  The Mayer of Tzfat adds his blessings to all those contributing.

Be"h we will use it for happy occasions.
