  Hachnasat Orchim

Chai Rotel Hachnasat Orchim

After enduring hours of road traffic (as all routes to Meron are terribly congested), with anxious anticipation a steady companion, not to mention all those that come from abroad, many just having stepped off the plane after a long and exhausting flight, the travelers arrive at the site tired, hot, hungry and very exhausted.

Hundreds of Thousands are making this difficult journey to receive the blessing of Reb Shimon Bar Yochai. Individuals desperately needed a place where they can rest and rejuvenate.

Chai Rotel Hachnasat Orchim program

Tzidkat Rashbi established a modern fully equipped pavilion covering 7,000 sq. ft. of Meron. Volunteers work in shifts around the clock – 24 hours of serving fresh salads, filling sandwiches, steaming cholent, soups, hot kugels, cake, cookies, and a vast selection of hot and cold beverages – all in unbelievable quantities.

In a second cool tent, we constructed divided rooms with one room serving over a hundred thousand cool & hot drinks and refreshments throughout the festivities and many smaller rooms for praying, studying or relaxing. The air conditioned Study Tent enabled them to pray and rejoice and rest on this special day.

Tzidkat Rashbi set up new restrooms, which are kept clean, by a special crew much to the appreciation of those visitors.

As the years pass, the crowds in Meron swell to massive proportions close to half a million people gather in Meron each year. The village of Meron itself is comprised of steep inclines and rocky surfaces, which, when not crowded, has no proper place for visitors to rest.

On this day, after pouring out their hearts at the tomb, and hours of energetic dancing in the courtyard, where visitors suffocate in the vast open space, exposed to the boiling sun and stifling atmosphere for hours at a time, many are forced to leave early, for no matter how strongly they wish to remain, the conditions are simply unbearable.

Without government funding, without a steady source of income, but with outstanding and unprecedented self-sacrifice – the administrators of the organization take the heavy burden of financing this colossal project on their own shoulders.

When the Heart is Open – the Hand is Open

Each year, more and more Jews express their genuine will to assist in financially supporting the organization. Each one contributes whatever he has the means to – one donates a large sum while another can only afford a small sum. Everyone wants to give something. Everyone wants to take an active part in this special day.

What a tremendous merit it is to donate to this special cause that enables thousands of heartfelt prayers to be said at the gravesite of the holy Rebbe Shimon Bar Yochai!

People have undertaken to pay for the tents, prayer rooms, air condition, electric, food, for the cooks and the cleaners, as well as for the logistic expenses of the Yahrtzeit.

And the people have volunteered –come back with incredible stories of personal salvations…

Countless stories of salvations come forth from the gravesite of the holy Rashbi. The prayers at his grave bring on miracles and many people throughout the years have merited personal salvations after visiting the gravesite.

Even more incredible are the stories of those who lend a helping hand to the organization and contribute their time and money to this project by donating money. Their merit is beyond description!

Countless Jews support the organization with their donations, and thereby enable other Jews to visit the holy site and pray for their own personal salvation.

You can also be a partner!
